Apply Post-process

The following post-processing effects can be applied to enhance the visual quality and aesthetic of your 3D animations. Each effect can be toggled on/off and fine-tuned using specific parameters.

Bloom

Simulates the effect of bright areas overexposing neighboring regions of the image.

  • Threshold (0.0 - 1.0): Defines the luminance level at which the bloom effect begins. Higher values restrict bloom to brighter areas.
  • Weight (0.0 - 1.0): Controls the intensity of the bloom effect. Higher values produce a more pronounced glow.
  • Kernel (0.0 - 128.0): Determines the spread of the bloom effect. Larger values create a wider, softer glow.
  • Scale (0.0 - 1.0): Adjusts the overall size of the bloom effect relative to the image.

Sharpen

Enhances image detail by accentuating edges and textures.

  • Edge Amount (0.0 - 1.0): Controls the intensity of edge sharpening. Higher values produce more pronounced edges.
  • Color Amount (0.0 - 1.0): Adjusts the intensity of color sharpening. Higher values enhance color contrast.

Chromatic Aberration

Simulates the optical effect where different wavelengths of light fail to converge at the same point.

  • Aberration (0.0 - 100.0): Controls the strength of color separation. Higher values increase the distance between color channels.
  • Radial Intensity (0.0 - 1.0): Adjusts the intensity of radial distortion in the chromatic aberration effect.

Grain

Adds a film-like noise texture to the image, simulating the appearance of photographic film.

  • Intensity (0.0 - 100.0): Controls the strength of the grain effect. Higher values produce more visible grain.
  • Animated: When enabled, creates dynamic grain that changes each frame for a more realistic film effect.

Depth of Field

Simulates the focus properties of a physical camera lens.

  • F Stop (0.0 - 22.0): Represents the aperture size. Lower values create a shallower depth of field with more background blur.
  • Focal Length (0.0 - 300.0): Simulates the lens focal length in millimeters. Affects the scale of the depth of field effect.
  • Focus Distance (0.0 - 10000.0): Sets the distance to the plane of focus in scene units.
  • Lens Size (0.0 - 100.0): Adjusts the size of the virtual lens, affecting the characteristics of out-of-focus areas (bokeh).

Motion Blur

Creates the illusion of movement by blurring objects in the direction of motion.

  • Motion Strength (0.0 - 5.0): Controls the intensity of the motion blur effect. Higher values produce more pronounced streaking.

Vignette

Darkens the peripheral regions of the image, drawing attention to the center.

  • Multiply: When enabled, applies the vignette effect multiplicatively instead of additively, potentially creating a more natural darkening effect.

Tone Mapping

Adjusts the overall contrast and color representation of the final image.

  • Type: Specifies the tone mapping algorithm. Currently set to ACES (Academy Color Encoding System), which provides a cinematic look with improved highlight roll-off and shadow detail. Plask also provides Neutral Tone mapping developed by the Khronos group and Standard mapping applied in BabylonJS

These post-processing effects can be used individually or in combination to achieve the desired visual style for your 3D animations. Experiment with different settings to find the optimal balance for your project's aesthetic requirements.
